Marriage God’s Way: release party, trailer, and interview

Marriage God’s Way was published on August 4, 2016, and since then a number of exciting things have happened…

Book Release Party for Marriage God’s Way

Marriage Gods Way by Scott LaPierre book release party
Signing copies of Marriage God’s Way. I tried to write a personal message to each person.

Took place this past Sunday the 21st after service. I arrived a little late, because I was rushing over from teaching on marriage at another church’s Family Camp. When I arrived, I was touched by the number of people who attended. I know people are busy (and they seem to be busiest during summer), but they took time to come out and support me and Marriage God’s Way.

Someone wrote on Facebook…

“Look at all the support from your family/church family Scott LaPierre! That’s gotta feel so cool. Awesome!!!”

Katie and I sharing about the journey publishing Marriage God’s Way.

This summarizes exactly how I felt, but there was more than just friends from WCC. A number of families from other churches also came to celebrate with us. One particularly special guest was Mike Pritchard. I acquired his website services through an auction last year, and we’ve become friends as he helped me prepare for the publication of Marriage God’s Way. Living over three hours away, I never expected him to come. But he did and it meant a lot to me.

We most often think of our good friends as those who are with us when we suffer, and that’s true, but we can also recognize great friends by those who celebrate with us when we celebrate. One of the greatest blessings in my life is the number of wonderful friends God has given me.

Trailer for Marriage God’s Way

We started the party by showing the trailer for the first time…

Marriage God’s Way is dedicated to my father, John LaPierre. He’s a man of few words and he doesn’t like speaking in front of people. But he still summoned the courage to make a speech that was loving and heartfelt. One of the women in attendance quickly grabbed her phone, recorded the moment, and sent it to me which I really appreciated…

Marriage God’s Way Radio Interview

1330 AM KKPZ interviewed me about Marriage God’s Way. Here’s the interview…

My prayer for Marriage God’s Way from the beginning has been that it will strengthen marriages and exalt Christ. I feel like God is answering that prayer, and I am so thankful.

    1. Carol, that is one of the goals I hope the book accomplishes: making marriages last.

But my desire was more than that. Marriages that last are joyful, and Christ-centered.

  9. Congrats on your book released, Scott! It must have been both an exciting and blessed experience. By God’s grace, wonderful things can happened. Christian marriage is such an important topic for discussion that at times it was swept under the carpet. Love the trailer! Good work and continue to be a blessing to all.
    God bless!

    1. Hi Sharon,
Thanks for checking out the post, commenting, and watching the trailer!

Yes, it was definitely both exciting and a blessing.

  10. Wonderful that your fathers speech was captured! Gods love in a marriage is truly a blessing.

    1. Thanks Julie. Yes, I was very blessed by a good friend of ours being quick enough to whip out her phone to capture the occasion :).

  11. Amazing! I see many people seems to have everything but a relationship with God in their marriage. I think this would be a good read for couples.

    1. Thanks Nicole.

Yes, in the absence of having Christ at the center of a marriage, there’s nothing people can have that will take His place. We’ve seen this at different times in counseling, where people have lots of other priorities in their lives, but no matter how much they invest in other areas, nothing improves.

  12. Marriage is a recipe by God, and it should be in our priority after God. I’m glad how you introduce it in a video.

    1. Hello,
I’d like to respond to your comment, but I found it a little confusing. I take it you mean marriage should be our priority after God? I generally agree with this sentiment, but something I discuss toward the beginning of the book is that it’s not so much that God is first, our spouse is second, children third, etc. It’s more like we’re Christians spouses, Christian parents, Christian employees, etc. I think compartmentalizing our lives – as opposed to seeing Christ in all aspects – can be problematic.

  13. This sounds like a great book! It would be perfect for all high schoolors or young adults before they jumped into marriage.

    1. Thanks Jacqui!

Unfortunately most people start preparing for marriage after they’re marriage. A little late then! It’s been my desire teenagers would read it to prepare for marriage.

  14. Sounds like a great read. Makes me happy to say that I am happily married to a man who love God just as much as I do. So blessed.

    1. Thanks Kimberly.

Glad to hear that. We need more Christian marriages where both partners can say what you said!

      Thanks for your example!

  15. God bless you for writing this book, so many marriages are falling apart because Christ is not the center of their marriage. I would love to read this someday! Will it be available on amazon?

    1. Hi Darina,
      Thank you very much!

The book is available on Amazon (and already has almost 50 reviews). You can see here.

I would rather mail you a signed copy if that would be okay. We’re actually running a special right now, hoping people will buy more than one copy to give away as gifts to family, friends, etc. Here are the prices and the shipping is free:
      1 book for $15.99
      2 books for $25.99
      5 books for $54.99
By chance if you wanted more than 5 books, just let me know :).

Here’s the link to pay me on PayPal. If PayPal doesn’t work for you, please let me know and we’ll figure out something else!

    2. I will defiantly talk to my husband about purchasing, and get back to you! Thank you for such a quick reply.

    3. Sounds great Darina. Let me know if you have any questions!

Also, my greatest desire is to get the book in people’s hands to strengthen marriages and exalt Christ. If the price is too high, let me know and I’ll figure out something else!

    4. I forgot to answer your question about book reviews. I just started a home blog, so I’m not doing any book reviews yet, but might it the future. Thanks

    5. I understand! Thanks for letting me know.

I did check out your site (and comment on a post), and notice it didn’t include any book reviews.

  16. That’s great about the book!

I’m not religious but I’m sure this book can be very helpful.

    1. Hi Amber,
Just to let you know, you don’t have to be religious to benefit from what God says about marriage. He created it and He knows what’s best.

Those who follow God’s commands – whether church-going or not – still experience the blessings that come from having a marriage as God described!

  17. This is wonderful to honor those going into marriage under the eyes of our lord.

    1. Well, I’m not sure about honoring them, but hopefully helping them have marriages that honor the Lord.

  18. Amen! That’s great! I recently heard about this book from one of my newly wed friends. Congratulations on the success of your release. I pray God’s continual blessings on your ministry so that He is indeed exalted.

    1. Wow, that’s exciting Tiffani. Thanks for letting me know.

Thank you also very much for the prayers!

  19. Wow! How exciting. Congrats on this major accomplishment. I know you must be tickled and beside yourself. Nice trailer, btw.
    Blessings!

    1. Thanks Shan. Yes, I feel very blessed the Lord allowed me to do this.

  20. Marriage is so important. After God, it should be our first priority. Thanks for helping others put marriage in it’s proper place!

  21. Really good intro video! I love how you use scripture to help others in marriage too. Like you said it’s the perfect recipe.

    1. Thanks for checking out the post and trailer Mihaela!
